Weekend winter storm could bring several inches of snow to RI. See forecast
A few inches of snow are expected in Rhode Island this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters expect an inch or two of snow in the Ocean State on Sunday and up to three inches on the coastline, in a storm that is expected to blanket all of southern New England.
"The snow's expected to be relatively dry and fluffy," Bryce Williams, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Norton, said in an interview. "We're not expecting this to be a big, blockbuster storm that's going to have widespread impacts."

Newport 3 inches (high end 6 inches)
Westerly 2 inches (high end 6 inches)
Block Island 2 inches (high end 7 inches)
When is the snow expected to start in MA?
Snow is expected to begin falling in Rhode Island late Saturday night and continue into early Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. The earliest snow is expected around the coast.
While most areas will see the snow wind down by mid-afternoon Sunday, some spots could see additional snow or snow showers later that night, NWS said.
